I knew this would be a close fit when mounting under my Cobalt's platform; but, I decided to give it a shot to get away from a diver's ladder. Unfortunately, due to the chrome bar which surrounds the outer edge of my boat's platform, this ladder must be backed up under the platform approximately 4 inches in order to get it firmly mounted. So, the question is whether or not the ladder will still be easily accessible within the water when boarding the platform since its mounted more deeply than it should be & it drops straight down versus extending outward some when deployed. My boat is in the shop; so, I do not know yet whether it will work for me. Anyway, the purpose of sharing this info is to let you know to make sure you have accurate measurements and also account for the braces supporting the platform where attached to the boat. As for the ladder, it is of very good quality and it is fairly simple to install (requires carriage bolts which need to go completely through your platform unless it happens to be a perfect match/replacement where your previous ladder was mounted). This is a good, solid, well constructed ladder. The rungs are stainless steel tubing (just like the sides) with plastic treads. (I was initially concerned that the rungs were plastic, but they are not.) The bracket is heavy duty stainless - much thicker metal than I expected.I should note that the instructions require that it be bolted through the swim platform (or wherever you are installing it) and not just screwed to the bottom. There are 4 bolt holes and two of them are under the ladder, even when fully deployed, which prevents you from installing anything but a short screw if you wanted to try that. I used 5/16" SS carriage bolts, which worked fine. The instructions call for 1/4" bolts but the holes will accommodate up to a 3/8" bolt.Horrendous, product does not function, will not slide properly and seller offers little help. Wouldn't recommend this product or this vendor.
