Easy to install. Pretty wasteful though. They should come with the option to order the "a" or "b" clamps - instead of receiving both since you use one or the other typically - because what do you do with the excess part but toss it in a landfill. Fail on Yakima's part. Allow me to specify and include instead the accessory lock housings for the same price - you still have to buy their sks cores for the housings. Yakima, you'll still get my money.Their products are generally good but super pricey.Ok look yakama your product does work well. The only problem i have is when you start piecing together all you yakama parts for what ever costum profile you need it gets spendy. I needed this to adapt an old bike rack to my new HD bars. After a little reading of instructions it worked perfect. Yes you will have extra parts depending on what set up you are after.Con.No locking mechanism. This part really budd me as the parts could be taken off your rack quite easily. I did add a cable lock around my bars and rack to at least keep honest people honest. These ship in a box, completely disassembled, and require you to assemble them. Fair enough. They're universal, so some things I expect to change. What I didn't expect was that the racks I have (SKS) required three of these suckers each. I bought four, thinking it was all I would need. Nope. They tend to fall apart upon dismounting from the cross bars, an annoying problem when your car is taller, and can be difficult to install (if not impossible) on cars with low roof racks, due to their thickness. If you can, buy the ones made specifically for your crossbars - Yakima has a sizing tool on their site, but they don't cover all - you'll thank yourself later when you don't have to pick up a bucket of plastic parts. They do hold secure once you spend the better part of an hour setting them up, I must say.I bought these to keep my canoe centered on my Toyota Highlander OEM roof rack. They get the job done. I have to tighten them very snugly in order to keep them from 'drifting' with the wind and road vibration. But they do keep the canoe centered on the rack and keep it from shifting around as the wind catches it. The canoe is very solid on the rack with these in place. Overall I'm pleased with them but I think they're over-priced. I couldn't find anything else that would work.I got this to secure our tandem SOT Kayak on the roof of of our Toyota Highlander. I used this product to mount older type Yakima kayak cradles. There are different parts in the package for various purposes. Not all of them will be needed for your specific need. The assembly takes some time to be able to figure out the right parts to ensure the right fit. I was able to achieve a solid mount onto my cross bars. My older Yakima cradles have 2 mounting provisions and this product has one, that is why they don't seem 100% solid. If you need em, there is no substitute.Yakima is quality. I've purchased off brand generic racks and they're so poorly made in comparison. You truly get what you pay for - even if it's just some cheapo plastic parts.Wanted to install my Yakima bike racks on my Xterra, but the latches were way too small. After calling Yakima, they said these are what I needed.Installation on the bike racks was fairly simple, this took a little thought, as the directions didn't explain attaching them to anything but your car, but that's half the battle. After about an hr, it was said and done, and my bikes were secure on the roof!I wouldn't recommend interchanging these to different racks (bikes, snowboards, etc.), as it takes some time to disassemble. You can however pretty easily take them off your car (while attached to the bike, etc. rack) and place them on another.I searched for a long while, and Amazon had the best price, so don't waste your time, I already wasted mine for you! Trust me.If you have large crossbars, go for these, they are great, been using them for a few months now with no issue. Only word of advice is to check to make sure they are still tight every so often, especially if you use them often. They seemed not to loosen, but the rubber to form tighter, resulting in the screws seeming to have gotten lose, so you will have to tighten a bit more once or twice to 100% security. Other than that, A+ Yakima, steep price, but still worth it if you need it!These products do what they claim to do: allow you to fit Yakima rooftop racks on miscellaneous aero cross bars. The instructions are pretty straightforward.Part of the reason these are so expensive is because they include parts that you will not use. In order to ensure that this setup will work with a wide variety of cross bars, they include several sizes of parts. It would be nice if the entire list of Yakima products that this would fit, or not, was included in their advertising. I can’t complain about the product or delivery, but It won’t work on Hully Rollers. I’m left with adapters I can’t use, for close to $90. My mistake for not checking further, but no definitive list that I could find.I bought this product to adapt to a used yakima roof top carrier I bought on a buy and sell site. I needed to mount it to the roof too carrier so that I could attach it to my roof racks. This product worked perfect.I would likely work for other carriers as well. It is very easy to adapt.I recommend this product.Amazing product, works perfectlyThey are exactly as expected. Used to mount ski rack. Only suggestion would be a way to lock em on the cross bars.el producto es bueno y muy completo,se adapta a varias formas de barras
