This carrier is perfect for my wagon. The aerodynamics make the car Quieter than with the OEM rack alone. Perfect size (11 cf) for clubs and week of travel gear...Obviously good quality, looks like it was made for the car and was easy to install.I'm going to go out on a limb and assume the mileage issue will be minimal based on the sound and way air moves with the sunroof open as opposed to what I had.The only issue I have is opening on the passenger side, although I would probably appreciate it in a parallel parking situation in NYC in rush hour...if I ever go there again...We ordered the larger one, and it arrived very quickly, within 3 days. I installed it myself and left it on the vehicle for about a week, just to make sure stayed on properly. It was easy enough to install for one person, but it's not easy to reach the hinged side. We haven't been on a trip with it yet, but we did drive through a couple of storms while it was on the roof, around town, and the inside was dry. It did drop the gas mileage slightly. We installed this on a 2022 Hyundai Kona Limited, and it fit very well.I had my Subaru dealership install the crossbars, so they mounted this box for me while they were at it. I had bought this cargo box on Amazon and brought it with me to the dealership. When I told them I had brought a cargo box with me, they immediately asked if it was a Thule. I told them that I didn’t want to spend that kind of money. I could tell they thought mine was going to be junk. Upon pick up, all I heard was how impressed they were with the quality. They said that many are junk, but this definitely isn’t. We went on a road trip from Louisiana to the Florida Keys and Disney. This cargo box was awesome. We have a Subaru Crosstrek, which averages 32 mpg with no cargo box. With the box, we averaged 29.2 mpg. Impressive! Not much wind noise, either. The locking mechanism took some figuring out. It has one key access point, but the lock mechanism actually spans the length of the box, with three locking points. Each three spots of the lock has to be securely flush with the lid in order for the key to turn. This is great because it ensures a complete closure of the lid before the lock will engage. We were in the Keys during Tropical Storm Alex in June 2022, and experienced no leakage at all. We packed our clothes in duffle bags in order to mold our bags to the shape of the box, which was perfect. So glad I didn’t get a box with a rear entry. The side entry allowed me easy access. Very please all the way around! Definitely recommend! The item worked great. Drove 1200 miles during rain and high winds.Thought it would be a much harder shell. Still worked great.I wish it’s a little longer . It’s ok i use this for vacation more room bin the car .At 1st I thought is was going to be too small for my Subaru. It is the perfect size. Driving from CA to ME. Went through one heck of a downpour and driving rain on a freeway in Upstate New York. It was perfect, no moisture entered the cargo area! Going to use it next year for camping. This turned out to be a great choice, an excellent value and worked perfectly on a 1500 mile trip. I was concerned that it wouldn't mount on '18 Kia Soul factory crossbars because they are curved, not flat. The cargo box has enough flexibility to allow it to be mounted without any problems and worked great! It has two 1" square metal strengtheners running front to back between the mounting areas. The locking device is ingenious and I've had no problems with it or the keys. Both work perfectly and it's very secure. It locks positively and won't lock until both latches are exactly in position, that's all you have to do. Mounting was easy but the simplistic diagrams they call instructions warned to get the non-symmetrical U-Bolts vertical, not canted forwards or back. My crossbars are teardrop shaped and thru trial and error I found that the little dimple worked better one way over the other; forward on the front and rearward on the rear, in this case. It has metal hinges and plastic support arms. It's well made and plenty strong all around. It holds quite a lot and made our trip comfortable for three people and a large cooler. The pre-drilled mounting holes were perfect and it came with a sheet of stickers to cover the unused holes for weather proofing. Nothing got inside. It adds a bit of road noise, not bad. It lowers MPG a bit, but not bad and wind direction matters here. You can feel sidewinds a little more too. After a few miles I just forgot about it, mostly, and drove normally including high speed passing. I can't compare this to any other brand as this is my first but I don't imagine there could be much difference. I would buy this again and I think it's a perfect choice for a Soul or many other small cars.We probably use this in a very unique way we have a cleaning company and we used to carry our vacuums are brooms, swifter‘s and everything with long handles and it’s great frees up a lot of space great price and it works great for us thank you
